Wide Track I own a 98 Mercedes ML320 that has 2 BAJA h/t wide track tires on it. I was told that if I don't get the exact?
tires that it will mess up my transmission. Its an all wheel drive vehicle. One of the answers to this question said that it does not matter about the make of the tire just the same specs on the tire. is this correct?
You want to use the factory recommended tires which is labelled on the drivers door jam. I have seen bigger tires put on these vehicles with no problems. The story you heard about larger tires ruining your transmission is when the front and rear or left and right tires have a different circumference. This drives the gears in the transfer case and axles at different speeds and could possibly do some damage, but it would take a considerable amount of time to do this.

im tryin to make a heat plate out of some dryer coil and a soda can, i dont know if that would work and hwo much power i would need?
I would use a hair dryer and take the coils out and cut the soda cans top and bottom off, cut the side and lay flat. lay the can side a over the coils leave a little space between the coils and can side. STAY away the first time you turn it on.

Someone gave me the bike. Everything electrical is new and still no spark. any help would be great.
first thing that comes to mind is the points, are they set correct. it can be difficult on the ACT 70 because the window you look through on the flywheel is to small. they should just begin to open when the "F" mark is lined up. they should be open to .012 to .014 when the "T" mark is lined up.
another thing to look at is the wire that hooks to the points. this wire has to be on the correct side of the insulator. that is between the little bolt and the insulator, not between the insulator and the metal part of the points.
another thing i have seen is that the coil, when replaced, was done so with the wrong one. it must be a 6 volt coil. the newer coils are 12 volts.
you can unplug the on/off switch to eliminat it as the problem. it will run with it unhooked.
one last thing is did you replace the elbow at the end of the spark plug wire? they are under $5.00
