Effects of sitting in a barn?
i came across a 64 chevy corvair that has been sitting for 26 years un started. it was uncoerd by the hair and pulled into sunlight. the owner says the motor will turn over but will not start. i am aware that by now all the rubber has cracks and the fluids are solidified.... but other than the obvious, what should i look at in getting it to run? fuel pump? carb?
Hopefully no one has tried to start it yet.
You need to disconnect the power from the distributor and turn the oil pump for awhile to get some lubrication in the engine.
Change the oil first.
If it was good before, you'll suck the life right out of it trying to start it as is.
From there you may have someone check out the carb.
If there is old gas in the tank/lines/fuel pump you need to get it cleaned out, but otherwise don't need to replace unless you have a problem.
You've got a big and expensive job ahead of you.

Cheap Carburetor Boot Fix!
I have a 2006 Baccio dlx50. when i go down the road, it shuts off, then jumps back to life off and on?
it shuts off and jumps back to life and shuts off again. i put a new plug in it. the rubber hose the carb goes into and then into the motor has dryrotted cracks in it.
Could be improper fuel bowl float level disallowing enough fuel to enter the carburetor at higher demand for fuel.Dissasemble and check carburetor float to factory specs.
