Turbo/ Supercharger question Honda civic vti?

Hi.

I have a 1999 honda civic si (vti in the uk) and i am planning to supercharge it .. I read that if you do a compression test and leakdown test and they are ok you dont really need to rebuild your moto..
Both of the tests went ok however my moto has 130.000 mph and i was thinking to rebuild it If i am going to put a supercharge it .
What are your thoughts on that?
If i do rebuild the engine can you recommend parts (compression forged pistons, head gaskets etc) or companies that specialize on engine parts for 1999 si .. i looked at greddy but on their website they didnt have much for my car...

It seems that the most popular supercharger are JR and Vortex .. however i live in the uk and i was wondering if you can guys can recommend a company that specializes in the uk as for both of the above brands you can only get them in the U.S.

What gain (BHP) shall i expect to get from each supercharger (average)?

There are various kits out there...that would be the best bet since one assumes the manufacturer has done their homework.

Anytime you substantially increase the output of an engine, you're faced with greater stress to components, and with that a shortened engine & drive-train life. There's a trade-off & a price for increased performance. It would be good to first determine what your performance expectations are, then go with whatever mode necessary to get you there. For example, you can add a good 25% to your motor's output via cold air induction, performance exhaust, headers, VTEC secondary lobe high lift cams, upgraded ECM, etc. Those mods are fairly easy & inexpensive to perform & will be the kinder to your motor that forced induction.

However, if you're dead set on supercharging (or possibly turbocharging), you should expect to get around 45 - 50 hp from ~ 6-7 lbs of boost w/o an intercooler. If you deployed a turbocharger at say double that boost, you could see up to 100 hp, but that will prove brutal to the longevity of your motor. Calc it this way: One (1) atmosphere = 15 psi. Boost efficiency using an intercooler is around 65-70% (higher efficiency when you use lower boost). So if your motor cranks 160 hp stock, a 7.5 psi turbocharger = approx. 1/ 2 atmosphere of boost or 1 atmosphere x .5 boost x 160 stock hp x .65 turbocharger efficiency rating = around 50+ additional hp.
