Clutch Alignment whats the best sequence to do a clutch job on a 94 S10 4x4 4.3 v6?
should i pull the motor only?and hows that work out with the hole alignment thing. yet that tranny -tranfercase is pretty long , and do i dare break it between the two? i'm pretty handy and have almost evrything . JUST NEED SOMEONE TO POINT ME IN A STRAIGHT LINE.
pull the transfer case, then the transmission. pulling the engine
would take much longer. it is a hydraullic clutch, make sure you have the flywheel resurfaced, and then you will need a shim to make up for the machining. the machine shop should be able to tell you what size shim. i have been a technician and service advisor at a gm dealership for 16 years.

Diaphragm clutch alignment How to do it without a tool just by eye no alignment tool needed
What could be the reason for it being very difficult to put my shifter into gear?
I have had clutches replaced on this truck twice before, and both times, I would first notice the clutch pedal feeling funny and the smell of the clutch burning as well, as it being harder and harder to put into gear.
But this time, I have not had any of the other symptoms besides it being difficult to put the shifter into gear, especially first gear and reverse.
whenever I try to put it into reverse there is a loud noise. I had the "Shifter Bushings" looked at and they told me they were completely gone, so had those replaced, it worked fine for about a few days, but i ran over a speed bump very hard and then it was hard to put back into gear again (could I have knocked the "shifter bushings" out of alignment, possibly?
what other things could be the reason?
how could i tell?
I FOUND OUT MY TRUCK USES GEAR OIL.
There can be several things that may cause this, check out the following:-
1) If the clutch operates via a cable ensure that it is free and well lubed. Some times they bind up resulting in difficulties changing gears.
2) If the clutch is hydraulic check to see if there is any air in the system and that the clutch disengaging arm is moving fully when the peddle is depressed.
3) Check the alignment of the gear stick with the gear box via the linkage. You say that you went over a speed bump and the problem came back, sounds like there is an issue with the alignment of the gear shift transfer linkages.
