Gas Oil What happens if you put oil/gas mixture in your car ?
I accidentally added oil/gas mixture into my gas tank. Trying to just put regular gas in my Suv, and it ended up being the mixture from our weedeater. I know it wasn't a whole lot of oil/gas mixture. Please advise. I'm afraid to drive now! Thanks so much!
While it might cause a slight loss of performance short term, really it shouldn't permanently damage your fuel system. I do, however, recommend that you dilute it asap by gassing up full. And then with the next tankful add a container of fuel injector cleaner to remove any oil residue which may have settled on your fuel injectors, because of this error you made.

How can I tell if I have mix the oil/gas wrong for my weed eater?
I need a 50:1 ratio. I toke a gallon and added 2.5 oz of 2 stoke oil. Then it started giving me problems. How can I tell if I have too much or too little oil in my gas?
Here are a few more details. At this time no real smoke problem, the engine won't stay in running on idle and the engine is sluggish.
There are 128 oz in a gallon divided by 50 would be 2.56 oz of oil. Sounds like you have the right mixture. Assuming that you used the right oil it would sound like your problem is something other than the oil mixture. Usually the poor idle and sluggish running is a symtom of either carburetor adjustment or a carburetor that needs rebuilding. Try turning the low and high speed jets all the way in and than 1 1/2 turns out. Once the engine is running adjust them for the best performance. Also check your fuel filter, it is in the fuel tank, change it if it is dirty. If all of this fails you probably need to rebuild the carburetor.
