my jet ski wont stay at a consistent speed?
I just dropped my jet ski in the water this weekend for the first time since winterzing, i started it a few times in the spring but never used it. At some points i was going 65mph and then others the ski wouldn't go faster than 10mph... any suggestions for that?
I brought it home with in 5 minutes, changed the plugs and then let it run for 20 mins. It seemed to run fine, but then again, it did in the spring when i ran it also. I did notice a liquid on the plugs when i pulled them.
How many cylinders is your machine?
Are the plugs all wet?
If it is carburated you probably need them adjusted because it is "loading up" with fuel.
Another possibility is a bad CDI or ignition coil isn't providing the signal or the spark necessary to get rpms.
If they are all wet I would bet on the carburator if it did run well at first.

My Jet Ski Won't Start?
It's a 96 SeaDoo Xp but it's in great condition.
We've only had it for a week or so. I'm blaming my younger brother because he kept doing 360's nonstop in it and flipped it a few times, but everyone is saying it had nothing to do with him.
When I try to start, it cranks but nothing turns. I tried pulling choke, that didn't help, and I tried giving it some gas, and that didn't work either.
When we finally got it started, we tried to get it up to speed, but it just shut off again.
If we let it sit for a few hours, it will work fine for about 20 minutes before doing this again.
Also, we have it just sitting in the lake. I want to take it out but everyone in the family is having a fit saying that it's fine to leave it in the water.
I'm so worried. I've wanted this jet ski for a long time, and now that I just got it, it's already broken.
PLEASE HELP!
