Snowmobile Left Trailing
SNOWMOBILE HELP!!!!!!!!?
The other day we were riding the trails on my polaris indy 500 efi 1994 when it started knocked and clanking when we accerated. We turned around to go back to the trailer and when we put it in reverse it just quit moving the engine ran fine but it woulnt move we left it there and brought the trailer to it then it moved but knocked very badly what could this be?

sounds like it could be a loose chain - jumping the gears. maybe their not wrecked yet. on the right side of the sled near the rear of the muffler is the chain case. on the front of the case is an adjusting bolt. first loosen the jam/lock nut & finger tighten (clockwise) the bolt. re-tighten the nut. check the oil on the dipstick. 10-40 works fine. it may be nessisary to remove & reinstall the muffler to gain access. i can't remember. or eles i've seen tracks so loose they jump the cogs on the drive. um or eles the primary clutch is loose or has broken parts. check the chain tension first. good luck

I need Legal advise on a snowmobile Accident, Who is at Fault?
I was riding down the trail and came up on another snowmobile going slower. I followed him, both of us on the right side of the trail, for about 2-blocks when he pulled over to the far left side of the trail,then almost came to a complete stop. I thought he was letting me by. I proceeded on the right side of the trail at about 10 mph to go by him. Then he made a 90-degree right hand turn through the brush and then I T-boned him at about 5-mph. When I asked him why he did that he said I did not think anyone was behind me. It cracked his belly pan and bent my left ski and control arm to the cost of $353.48 to fix my sled. Was he at fault to make a hard right from the far left side of the trail? Or is there a % of me/him at fault. Or am I at fault here. we both exchange names , addresses and phone numbers and I would like to farther pursue this matter. Any Legal answers would be Greatly appreciated! .............Thank You. p.s we both have $500 deductible on our insurance.
i think he is. he should have checked before he turned. and i dont really get what he was trying to do
