Can a snowmobile that is studed be used on regular trails or just on lakes?

2003 Mach Z 800 Tech Plus Triple/Triple is what I am buying hopefully.
Here is part of the add:
. This sled is simply Fast and in perfect condition. Bickford clutch, V-Force reeds, studded, Dyno Port pipes (sounds sweet), always stored in garage or enclosed trailer. Sled has been used as a lake sled and in radar runs for the past 4 years, used on trails before that. Sled has 1870 miles on it. Other than improvements noted, sled is stock, never damaged. . Sled was the 2008 winner at the Swift Diamond Riders Snodeo in the 800 stock class and routinely beats out the Mach 1000 on the lake or in a 800'-1000' run.

Also, selling for $3,000. Is this a good deal??

I rode arctic cat snowmobiles for years and we always studded out tracks. Studs don't hurt groomed trails and they help prevent the sled from spinning out on a hard packed surface. I wouldn't be without them.
