Disc Brake Assembly How do you replace the rear disk brake pads on a 1990 chevy lumina 3.1?
i did the front brakes by removing one bolt and flipping the caliper up, but the rear assembly looks a little different. can i flip the rear ones too? and ive read somewhere that to get the piston to retract you need to turn it clockwise with pliers or something like that
Most disc brakes are all the same, it should be like your front, and when installing new pads you may have to compress the pistons on the caliper to fit the new pads onto the rotor.
Caliper Lever my hydraulic disk brake is shimano xt br-m775 i only used it for 2 weeks?
it produces a squealing sound at the rear when brake lever is operated. the disk is straight, the caliper and rotor are aligned, no leak at the calipers. i tried to swap the pads from the front caliper but it still creates the vibrating sound, i also tried swaping the rotors and still it sounds weird when brake levers are operated. what will i do to to stop the squealing sound? is it my frame merida HFS2000 causing the problem, do i have to level the dropout for disk brake?
I have this same problem (off and on) with my Avid Juicy 5's. I've talked to several people and it just seems to be the nature of the beast. If I clean the rotors off with rubbing alcohol, that sometimes makes the squeal go away for a while. You may also try a few hard stops to deglaze the pads.
I work at an auto parts store and have looked at every possible options..... online, in vintage parts books. Where can i find front disc brake rotors for a 1974 international 100 4x4 pickup? I have the sample and dimmensions and am not finding anything close to match. Is this not made anymore?
the modal you have stopped in production in 1987 try dodge and ford and chevy also look in the junk yards and craigslist
