Coolant Tank I have a '02 Subaru. Is it ok to put water into your Coolant Overflow Tank?
I think I have a leak some where in the engine. I noticed a slight rubbery burning smell when at a stop. I also noticed that my reserve Coolant tank is way below the lines. Last Oil Change the radiator coolant level was ok (2 mos. ago) Is it ok to put water into the Overflow tank?
In a pinch it's OK. The antifreeze contains anti corrosion additives. It's not a good idea to dilute the coolant too much. The coolant will quickly turn brown. If you live in a cold climate, you are at risk of the engine freezing solid. Remember water expands 11 times when it freezes.
I filled the coolant tank up yesterday, today the fluid is gone!?
There aren't any signs of it leaking on the driveway, the coolant tank has a small hole at the top corner, is this a problem? Is the fluid escaping through the hole somehow? Car is a 1996 Toyota Camry 4 cyl. Thanks for any help!
Suspension Parts Suspension parts to change in 63 chevy nova?
My 63 nova swerves from right to left and is difficult to keep stright. I read a lil online and was wondering if only bushings should be replace or also control arms and joints? local mechanic said change all and wanted to charge me $500 for just labor. I have a complete bushing set, He said i needed joints and arms also.

Front end work is not for a beginner. This is simply a safety issue. If you do your own front end work, please let me know where you will be, so I can stay off of the same road as you. If you have questions about what should be done, go to another shop and get a second opinion. Bushings are only one component of a suspension system and usually don't cause the problems you describe. What suspension parts need to be changed on my 1986 Chevy Nova?
At low speeds my Nova seems to shimmy side to side and bounce alot at higher speeds. I have replaced the two front tires and it didn't shake too much immediately after that but now does.
Why would you want to spend much money on a car that old??
I dont recall an 86 Nova as being a classic......your tires are not the problem....take this car to Midas and have them go over your suspension parts.....eg tie rods, ball joints, idler arm, control arm bushings, etc......shocks.....what is the car worth??? Never spend in repairs more than any car is worth.....never!! driveway mechanic*****
Steering Arm i just realized that my pitman arm has a gap right in between the steering pump and the pitman arm?
I have a 2000 crown vic lx. I just realized that theres a gab right between the steering pump and pitman arm where it goes connected. Is that gab suppose to be there?
Well the pitman arm shouldn't be on the steering pump. It connects to the steering box! The pump is in the engine and has hoses running to the box (steering sector).
The pitman arm will not be flush against the sector housing. It is all right.

what steering arm ? what boot? are you talking about cv joints? or tie rods or what? Check the link, there's a couple of suspension and steering diagrams Identify the part you're asking about
i own a Sachs sx1 50cc moped and just recently the gasket in the exhaust blew out. i cant find a replacement on the internet and could do with some help as my exhaust is blowing. would using exhaust repair putty around the gap left by the gasket be a viseable plan? thanks!

1985, clean, go-westy engine, need advice to keep healthy. Exhaust is loud, think i need manifold gasket. AC, shocker, not working but curious why. How can I install extra batt. under driver seat? All advice is gratefully respected.
Loud exhaust...first place I would look is the muffler for a rust hole not a gasket. AC. not working? maybe compressor belt broke, or it needs a recharge AC people can check that out for they have the testing equipment. Shocks worn out? It happens, they do wear out. Total replacement. No second battery under drivers seat.(you don't want it in the car cause batteries give off explosive fumes. Motor is also 10 feet away. Battery should be as close as possible for the starter motor. Better to get a high cranking amp battery from WalMart. It does not need to be VW. You just need measure with tape measure the length, width, and height room and which side the ground is on and go shopping for another battery. 1000 cranking amps is plenty good. Batteries only last 5 -7 years.
