Snowmobile Part What is your favorite part of any James Bond movie?
Mine is in A View to Kill. The movie's not that great, but the opening scene is badass. Bond is being chased and riding a snowmobile. The snowmobile breaks and he snowboards on the rudder on the bottom. The beachboys song California Girls starts playing. Classic!
I really liked the new Casino Royale, but I definitely wouldnt say its the best bond film ever.
I like the scene when Bond runs on the crocodiles in Live and let die.
Note also that the stuntman that did the scene has the same name as the films villain, Kananga.
Engine Piston what is the best aviation piston engine in common use?
Just curious as to what you guys think is the best engine bast on life of engine, cost of repairs, engines you would find on light aircraft such as cessna 150 172 182 pipers etc. Also what about it makes it the best in your eyes.
Thanks
I'm kind of partial to Continental engines, mainly just because I have flown behind more of them... As far as maintenance and reliability goes, I think it's pretty much a toss-up between Continental and Lycoming.
How exactly does a single cylinder four stroke piston engine work?
I understand the four strokes of a piston engine, but i don't know how the piston falls in the first stroke, then it again rises in the second stroke, and how it rises to push the waste gases out in the fourth stroke.People told me that it was because the crankshaft rotated, but what causes the crankshaft to rotate? Can some one please answer my question?Thank you.
The crank keep rotating because it has a flywheel connected to it. A flywheel is like a big weight that has rotational momentum. It has enough momentum to keep the engine going between power strokes.
Kit Pistons can I buy a sportster engine rebuild kit?
Have a 1988 sportster and have low oil pressure and I need to rebuild bottom end with bearings. Is there preferred vendor that sells a complete engine rebuild kit ..bearings, bushings, piston, crank pins, rods...etc.. What would you suggest. Do I have to buy the parts individually or what?
Email me trhough my profile with more info on your diagnosis of low oil pressure. A COMPLETE engine rebuild including rod and crank bearings is NOT something the average person can do at home, it REQUIRES re-trueing (and for PROPER procedure, rebalancing) the flywheels. Bottom-end rebuilds are rarely needed, the tope-end must first come off and rods checked for up & down play, side-play and end-play, THIS will tell you if you need to rebuild the bottom end....which is EXPENSIVE...in all honesty, it will cost as much if not more than the bike is worth....it is easier and cheaper to replace the crank assy, not rebuild it.
Before you do anything, like I mentioned above, email me with more detailed info, I can then better help and guide you in the right direction.
Snowmobile Fuel Pump i cant seem to get my snowmobile to start...ive cleaned the carb and checked the fuel pump,an new plugs....?
have a 80s yamaha ss 440 cant seem to get it to start....tried everything and just dont know what else to try or what it could be..cleaned the carb, checkd the fuel pump seems to be ok...runs on starting fluid but then shuts off...has clear gas lines and you can see that there isnt any gas goin through the lines at all....also put new plugs and a coil on it....what could it be....
Sounds like a carb problem. How did you clean it? Was it completely taken apart or did you just run some cleaner through it? Some of the passages in the carburetor are very small and you may need a small wire or paper clip to clear any blockage
Buggymike34 yamaha snowmobile engine running on mikes hard twisted tea ????
help with snowmobile?
mechanic blew out all lines,, cleaned carbs, and replaced fuel pump,, gas still only going to one carb.. what could be the problem
Well if the pump has two outlets, one for each carb, you should make sure he gave you a good pump. If its a diaphragm pump, a small tear in the diaphragm can make it not pump properly. The needle and seat in the carb may be hanging up still. You can pull the bowl off the carb, pull the float off and then pull out the needle. Using very fine sand paper >600 grit, lightly sand the edges of the needle where it contacts the seat. Only a few passes so the needle doesn't hang up anymore. You can also check float height while the bowl is off. You'll need to google some specs for your particular sled. Otherwise check for pinched/cracked fuel lines. If the pump is pulling in air, it wont pump gas.
