Is the CFR the new WTO?
Back when I was in high school (roughly a decade ago), all the anarchists who wanted to look badass (i.e. losers) made a big hoop-dee-doo about the WTO (World Trade Organization) being a secret cabal designed to usurp the sovereignty of the USA and turn us into a protectorate of the NWO. That is "New World Order" for those who don't speak crazy.
Lately now, I have noticed that the same far left wing radicals and even some ultra right right wing freaks have started chanting a new mantra: the CFR (Council of Foreign Relations) is now the bogeyman who are the secret agents of the NWO, steering our country towards the Apocalypse.
So I must ask, has the trend changed? Is the WTO so passe as a darling to the conspiracy theory loonies that now the CFR is having its time in the spotlight? And what organization will emerge in the next ten years as the next fictional threat to the USA for the insane fantasies of delusional conspiracy theorists?
The Council on Foreing Relations (CFR) has been a center of conspiracy theories since the 1960s, when groups like the John Birch Society got their panties in an uproar over them. This is nothing new.
