I have a 1994 formula z, and i need to clean out the carbs but dont want to bring it into a shop to have it done. Im not familiar with snowmobiles, so any advice on how to do this? I also have the R.A.V.E system on my sled, does this have a part in cleaning the carbs?
I just bought one myself and just cleaned the carbs. You need to take the air box off first. then you need to unscrew the top of the carburator and remove it. Place it into a plastic bag so you don't scratch the sides. Only do one at a time. remove the primer hose and gas line. then loosen the clamp holding the carb to the motor. you can then take it apart and clean it out. Just make sure you put everything back in the same place or it wont run and you will have to take it to the repair shop. The easiest way is to buy a shop manual and follow the directions. Any chance of you sending a picture of your pull rope routing? My cord broke and i am not sure how to route it and the manual doesn't show.
