I'm with you there! I hate the HUGE American flags over car dealerships (especially when they're selling foreign cars!). I wonder if there's any market research that it actually helps.

i am 18 and about 6 ft 2in have never ridden a motorcycle before, and i am looking for a good starter bike (definatly not a cruiser), id like to get a decent sport bike something that would be comfortable for a hour drive, and has a decent amount of power but not so much that i cant handle it. and cheap would be nice to but not a huge factor.
You're a big guy so some of the usual answers would be too small for you. What about the Honda F4 in 600cc? Good Lord knows there are enough models and styles out there. You should probably just go out to a couple of shops and "try some on".
And if you have never ridden you might consider the Motorcycle Safety Foundation classes. They really help a lot and teach quite a bit about being a safe biker. Too many people know nothing about bikes, decide to get a somewhat powerful bike and then get in over their abilities to ride. Then comes the crash.

ARe they easy to install if you have a limited amount of automotive knowledge or should a professional handle it?
Do they also unlock the auto car doors?
I had a remote starter put on my 2003 Chevy Malibu about 3 months ago. It's made by Python, advertised at $170 at Circuit City, adding in the harness to get around the theft system, an extra thing to make the trunk release still work, then misc shop fees and tax, came out to around $250 total. Works great, I really like it. Piece of advice I read other places before getting it done that is absolutely right - ask the tech to set the parking lights to solid (vice blinking) when remote started - the blinking (which is the default) would get annoying.
Yes, the key fobs unlock the car doors also. As I mentioned, it can also do the trunk release if you pay the extra $40 or so (included in my $250 total above) to get the extra part.
Another unexpected benefit - the original factory key fobs still work - I had read that they might not. I now have 4 key fobs that can unlock the doors and trunk. The two factory ones, plus the two w/ the remote starter.
Finally, concur with everyone else to get this done professionally, unless you're very good at it. It took the Circuit City tech pretty much all day, and he knew what he was doing. I know he had to take the factory radio all the way out too, in order to get to some of the ignition wires. There are a sizeable amount of connections and settings. For the difference between the "installed" price and the cash and carry price (maybe $70, tops), it's money well spent. If I had tried to do it, it would have been a 4 day learning curve, risk of damage to the car, and an indescribable amount of pain and angst.
